TRAK congratulates Airbus as prime & Thales Alenia Space as payload contractor on the successful launch of Arabsat 6a, now re-named BADR 7, on November 10th, 2015.
TRAK provided 4 separate customers with a large number and variety of S, Ku, K and Ka-band ferrite isolators and circulators in a range of microstrip, coaxial and waveguide topologies which were integrated in a variety of transponder, multiplexer, frequency converter, receiver/LNA and other equipment.
The payload, the 7th produced by the the European Industrial Consortium for ARABSAT, weighed 6100kg at launch with a spacecraft power of 12 kW and is designed for 15 year lifetime, was produced by Thales Alenia Space in Toulouse. BADR 7 boasts 24 transponders in Ku-band and 24 Ka spot-beams as well as 3 Ka transponders for additional services the payload will be hosted by the Airbus Eurostar-3000 bus and will provide services over a wide geographic coverage that includes the whole of MENA, South and North-West Africa and Central Asia BADR 7 is
